IT I/S Desktop / Workstation Technician
Key Job Functions
• Local & branch support of desktop, laptop, and Cisco IP Phone equipment
• Build and deploy new PCs as part of the annual and as needed PC replacement program
• Manage and implement desktop images for deployment
• Repair/Rebuild failed desktop equipment
• Hands-on support when needed for servers, network equipment, and other local infrastructure
• On-site support of branch specific applications (e.g. MS Office, Outlook, Deluxe, PCS, etc.)
• Provide technical assistance for support of branch initiated projects and requests (network re-cabling, cable management, building expansions, etc.)
• Provide first level support for local and branch printers
• Staff participation on Virtual Help Desk (VHD)
• Coordinate needed support services from Unicom / Stratcom
• Work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Responsible for providing advanced/executive support in a fast-paced customer-focused environment. Provide a variety of service functions in an organized and professional manner, including supporting users either on the phone, VHD, and travel to branch locations
• Advanced technical and troubleshooting skills are required. This position troubleshoots via remote desktop support (RDP), researches team resources for adherence to approved solutions, enters timely documentation of all tickets (Track-it) with follow through to closure
• Supported technologies include TCP/IP, network connections (both wired and wireless), iPhone/iPad, Android activation/connectivity, (OS and hardware upgrades), and engineering/R&D environments.
• This position will also provide back-up services to the hardware configuration center with standard image load and software installations performed according to business-need processes.
• Candidate must be flexible, highly motivated, be able to work independently, and possess effective time management skills in order to successfully contribute across multiple projects/priorities.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Good communication skills and a strong desire to work with the business to gain a deep understanding of the business processes required
• Ability to deliver enhanced functionality, aid with new implementations, and provide continuous support within the scheduled time while preserving system integrity – required
• Ability to sustain maximum performance levels in a high stress, high expectation, and high demand position – required
• High degree of initiative, creativity, and technical ability to function on this team – required
• Owns a working and reliable vehicle capable of transporting network and computer equipment
