ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Richmond, the county seat of Fort Bend County, is a diverse community located on the Brazos River, 15 miles southwest of Houston. The town has a long history, dating back to the early 1800s, and we at ValueBank Texas are proud to now be a part of it. Richmond is a town whose spirit lies in its people, where good ‘ol Texas values and the pursuit of excellence can still be found. SELECTED CHARITABLE PARTNER
Richmond State Supported Living Center Country Store
The Country Store is an on-campus thrift shop located at the Richmond State Supported Living Center. The store provides opportunities for their residents to learn life skills such as shopping, cash handling, appropriate behavior in public and much more. Income generated by the Country Store helps provide funding for the Volunteer Services Council of Richmond SSLC . Funds raised are used to enrich and enhance the lives of the individuals living with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities that call Richmond home. Our branch and customers collected money and gently used items to donate to the store.
