  • 1967

    ValueBank Texas originated as Texas State Bank (Chartered in 1966).

  • 1972

    A new building is constructed on Leopard Street in Corpus Christi, which is still used today.

  • 1972-1982

    Four independent banks from surrounding communities became affiliates of the International Bank of Corpus Christi.

  • 1973

    Texas State Bank changed its name to the International Bank of Corpus Christi to better reflect the potential growth of the port connected business.

  • 1982

    A six-story office building was added on to the bank building. Today it serves a diversity of tenants, as well as the bank’s executive offices.

    1991 the Texas Department of Banking approved the merger of five separate chartered banks

    The Texas Legislature passed a new intrastate banking law, which allowed branch banking in Texas. In May 8, 1991 the Texas Department of Banking approved the merger of five separate chartered banks into four branches of The International Bank of Corpus Christi under the new name, The International Bank.

  • We changed our name to ValueBank Texas


    We changed our name to ValueBank Texas to better reflect our identity within the communities we serve.

  • 1999

    ValueBank Texas built branches in Rockport and another in the Midtown area of Corpus Christi.

  • 2000

    Scott Heitkamp became President of ValueBank Texas and Harlan Heitkamp remained CEO/Chairman of the Board. The International Bank grew to a total of six locations.

  • 2002

    Scott Heitkamp became the CEO of ValueBank Texas. Harlan Heitkamp retained his title as Chairman of the Board.

  • 2010

    A new branch location in Richmond/Katy area was purchased.

  • Present

    ValueBank Texas continues ahead, continuing to grow while remaining focused on personal service and our customers. Our tradition has never been forgotten. Even as new technology provides us tremendous opportunity, we remember the good ol’ days.
